If you are arranging a trip to Europe in North America (or even vice versa), consider taking Icelandair for a stopover of up to seven days in Iceland without a extra charge to your own fares. Connect me for #MyStopover using Icelandair where I invest 72 incredible hours at Iceland!
My journey starts in Iceland’s capital city of Reykjavik, that functions as my home basel. I see the iconic Sun Voyager sculpture, Church of Hallgrimskirkja (together with the most incredible views over Reykjavik), statue of Leif Eriksson and what’s claimed (and confirmed) to be the nation’s most delightful hot dogs. 25 minutes away from the airport- Reykjavik is remarkable!
Next up throughout my 72-hour stopover is a flight aboard the Hekla Aurora- the plane in the Icelandair fleet. With its mini Northern Lights series and brand new everything about board- it worth the hype!
From here I take property back and the flight in Reykjavik. The following day we drive into the Gullfoss Waterfall (Iceland’s most popular), cover a visit to the area’s most famous geyser (heading off 120 ft every 4-8 minutes), the ancient crater of both Kerio and wash it all down together with Iceland’s best lamb shank at Frost & Fire Hotel (cooked underground from the geothermal heat!)
Stuffed from lamb & bread, we then go off on some incredible views over Reykjavik and an ATV Safari for a outdoor experience. Following the enjoyable, we get down to some serious business using a few of the most loved and hated foods in the world: fermented shark. Despite inducing olfactory damage, I gut the evaluation!!
I am ready to live a dream of seeing with Iceland’s Blue Lagoon. A giant pool of geothermal waters is thought to have incredible healing powers for those suffering psoriasis. With more than half a million visitors every year, there is no uncertainty that the waters are magic! Following scrub and a serious soak, I reluctantly head back to the airport at the end of. If you are traveling the Europe/North America route, be sure to book with Icelandair and make the most of this travel chance!!
